About Shown Media

Shown Media is a 130-person creative studio on Madison Avenue. Emmy winners, ex-Mr. Beast filmmakers, elite creative strategists. We run viral launches for billion-dollar companies like Slash, WithCoverage, and Contra - generating hundreds of millions of views, zero paid distribution. We might be the reason you even know some of these companies.

Why This Role Exists

Budgets don't go viral. Creators do.

Anyone can post a job listing that says "seeking content creators." What actually works is knowing which fifteen creators, out of fifteen thousand, have the instinct, the audience, and the work ethic to post daily and not burn out by week three. Then briefing them so well they don't need to ask what to do. Then watching the numbers every single day and telling them, in real time, why the Tuesday post did 40K views and the Thursday one did 2 million.

If you're the person we're looking for, you already do this in your head when you scroll your own For You Page. Your job is to do it professionally, for a roster, for real client money.

The Role

You won't run a spreadsheet of creator names and check in once a week. You'll build and run the whole engine - from sourcing the right creators, to briefing them so the client's message survives contact with an algorithm, to coaching them post-by-post until their worst video outperforms most brands' best.

Not "manage creator relationships." Own the roster. Own the brief. Own whether the client's $50K turns into 500K views or 50 million.

Here's what owning that actually looks like:

  • Find the creators. Source and vet creators across Instagram (and adjacent platforms) who fit a client's category, tone, and audience — not by follower count, but by whether their content actually has a shot at breaking out. You know the difference between an account with 200K followers and no engagement and an account with 20K followers that goes viral every third post.

  • Communicate with creators. Be the person creators actually want to hear from — fast, clear, direct. Negotiate rates, set expectations on posting cadence ($3/1,000 views, X posts per week), and keep them motivated through a 3-month sprint without babysitting them.

  • Write the briefs. Translate a client's product, positioning, and goals into a brief a creator can actually use — one that gives enough direction to protect the brand, and enough freedom that the content doesn't feel like an ad. Write both sides: the client-facing brief and the creator-facing brief, and make sure neither loses anything in translation.

  • Run point with clients. Be the calm, credible voice a tech client hears when they ask "so what's actually happening with our $50K." Report on what's live, what's performing, what's next, and what you're changing — before they have to ask.

  • Track everything that's posted. Know, at any moment, what every creator on a campaign has posted, when, and how it's performing. Catch underposting, missed briefs, and off-strategy content before the client does.

  • Coach creators on the content itself. Give real, specific feedback on hooks, pacing, and format — not "post more," but "this hook loses people in the first second, here's why." You're not just relaying briefs, you're making creators better at their craft while they work with you.

  • Debrief and improve. After a post over- or under-performs, know why — and turn that into a clear, specific note the creator can use next time. The best creators on your roster should feel like they're leveling up every week.

  • Stay ahead of the algorithm. Know what Instagram (and the broader platform landscape) is rewarding this week, not last quarter. Formats, sounds, hooks
