Who is Shown Media, and what this role is about
Every week, we launch a company from unknown to mainstream. Our launches hit 10s of millions of views. Not explainer videos, masterpieces engineered to break the internet for the founders backed by Sequoia, A16Z, and Khosla.
Only apply if this feels embarrassingly accurate:
We want the designer who redraws a storyboard at 2am because the motion intent was off, without anyone asking. The one who thinks in transitions and timing even when working in Figma. Who builds storyboard frames so detailed and intentional that animators never have to ask a single question. Who sees motion in every static frame.
You understand that your work is the invisible foundation of everything — if it's wrong, nothing that comes after it can be right.
About Shown Media
Emmy winners, ex-Mr. Beast filmmakers, and the most technically gifted motion designers on the planet. We engineer viral launches for the founders history will remember — tens of millions of views per campaign. Most importantly for you, the animation you ship this week will be in front of 25+ million people in 72 hours.
What You'll Do
Own the visual blueprint for every launch — from rough concept to production-ready storyboards in Figma
Translate strategy and narrative into frames that communicate structure, timing, and motion intent so clearly that animators can just animate
Build detailed, organized Figma systems the motion team can execute without guesswork
Give motion direction through storyboards alone — communicate timing, transitions, and visual language without animating a single frame
The animation you ship this week will be in front of 30 million people by Friday.
What We're Looking For
Advanced Figma — you build production-ready storyboard systems, not sketches
You understand motion design well enough to direct animators through frames alone
You think in pacing, timing, and transitions even when your output is static
You know the difference between a frame that communicates clearly and one that leaves animators guessing
Basic After Effects knowledge is a strong bonus — you don't need to animate, but you need to know what you're asking for
And most importantly: You actually have taste.
Only apply if you have a portfolio and a reel.
We want you to show us why you are the best of the best.
